Hear that? That was just the sound of this author’s heart going completely liquid, congealing on the floor, and forming a little weepy puddle. In other words, this is quite brilliant stuff, full of Cupid’s arrows and jangly guitar and saying “I love you” but not meaning it. Enough to bring any true romantic to a swooning, melancholic fall. B-side “Out of Side, Out of Mind” is not quite as gorgeously rendered, instead sounding like being lost in the woods with Stephin Merritt and his harp. But nevertheless, this is a near-perfect single - it might be too soon for love, but we might just be falling for the Bleeding Hearts.
