The Chemical Brothers
The Boxer
Astralwerks
For me, The Chemical Brothers are a guilty pleasure. I grew up listening to hardcore punk, but The Chemical Brothers made dance music accessible to me. Well, the Dead Milkmen had the instant dance club hit "You’ll Dance to Anything" and the "Smokin’ Banana Peels" remixes, but I digress. The Boxer, by The Chemical Brothers is a great album to play loudly throughout the house on a sunny Sunday, while doing your things around the house in the afternoon.

Track listing:

01 Boxer
02 Boxer [Dfa Version]
03 Giant
04 Spring
05 Believe [Mathew Jonson Remix]
06 Believe [Erol Alkan's 'Feel Me' Re-Work]
07 Galvanize [Abe Duque Remix]

This album is full of great music, and I could easily see The Boxer playing in the background of a car commercial, or a movie trailer, but not a “Karate Kid” montage. That’s a good thing. Too many dance groups use drum loops and whistles and squeaky keyboards to make music that belongs as the soundtrack to a muscular gay man in daisy dukes waxing his Porsche, or his inner thighs.

What more can I say? If you like The Chemical Brothers, you’ll love this album. There are no surprises, it is just good music.
