Madrepore Overblown

Technically, a Madrepore is a stony, ancient coral. It also happens to be a drony, uninspired band from the outskirts of Los Angeles. Neither one is especially captivating, although the coral is able to reproduce in three separate ways. No, instead it’s melodramatic alternadrone that occasionally scales Nirvana’s heights (“Can’t Get You Out”) and Creed’s depths (“Overblown”). A handful of tracks have an intriguing, Latino beat to them, but the vast majority are just underwhelming.
